Interested in Becoming a Cantherm Dealer?

We are the sole authorized Arcotherm distributor for North America. We work with companies that take care of their customers the way we take care of ours.

Cantherm has supplied portable heating, cooling, power, and aviation ground support equipment to industrial operators across Canada and the United States since 1993. The right dealers extend that work into regions, verticals, and customer relationships Cantherm cannot reach alone. The wrong dealers strain it. This page is how we tell the difference — honestly, before either of us spends time.

Who We Look For

We work with a small number of carefully selected dealers in regions and industries that match Cantherm’s catalogue and operating standard. The dealer archetypes we recruit for include:

  • Industrial equipment rental companies — multi-region footprints. Companies that already specify quality industrial equipment for their customers, not “any heater that runs.”
  • Aviation parts and ground support equipment specialists — serving fixed-wing and helicopter operators. Cantherm was founded in 1993 specifically to heat aviation hangars; dealers in this category align with our founding mission.
  • Oil-and-gas, drilling, and mining service companies — Alberta, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, and the broader cold-weather operating corridor. Companies who need cold-weather equipment for their own operations and for resale to the operators they serve.
  • Construction equipment dealers — companies who bundle generators, light towers, and heating equipment for major commercial and industrial sites.
  • Forestry and wildfire equipment specialists — serving BC, the Pacific Northwest, and Alaska.
  • Authorized service centers — independent service firms factory-trained on Arcotherm equipment. Companies whose customers need the equipment supported, not just sold.

If your company sits in one of these categories, this page is built for you. If your company sits in a related category we have not named here, we still want to hear from you — tell us how the fit works.

What Cantherm Brings to the Relationship

  • Sole authorized Arcotherm distributor for North America since 1993. The Arcotherm relationship is exclusive at the distributor tier; dealers connect through Cantherm.
  • Full Biemmedue Arcotherm product line plus complementary portable equipment — Walter Allegro electric heating, Portacool evaporative cooling, MovinCool portable air conditioning, Western Global commercial fuel storage, Yanmar generators, START PAC aircraft ground power, helicopter tow carts, protective covers, and on-site safety equipment.
  • UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certified Italian engineering. Biemmedue manufactures bespoke at the 25,000 m² Cherasco factory in Italy. Heaters arrive engineered for the operating envelope rather than configured down from a generic SKU.
  • Thirty-plus years of cold-weather operating-envelope experience. Equipment deployed across BC coastal and interior, Yukon, Alaska Southcentral and North Slope, Northwest Territories, Northern Manitoba, and the broader Canadian Helicopter operating corridor.
  • Winnipeg headquarters with established North American freight network. Same-day shipping from Winnipeg stock for orders before 2 PM Central; coordinated ocean-container cycle for bespoke Biemmedue builds.
  • Technical sales and service support directly from Cantherm staff. The same people who answer the phone are the people who know the products.

What We Expect From Dealers

  • Technical depth. You can read a spec sheet, advise a customer on burner sizing or capacity selection, and recognize when an application needs Cantherm engineering input — or you have the team capacity to learn.
  • Customer-first orientation. Your customers come back to you, not because you discounted hardest, but because you served best.
  • Financial capacity. Cantherm carries inventory at Winnipeg HQ; dealer-side inventory commitments scale with the relationship. We will discuss specifics in conversation.
  • Willingness to learn the Arcotherm product line. The catalogue rewards specialists. We provide training and supporting documentation.
  • Values alignment. You hold yourself and your work to a named standard. So do we.

What the Engagement Looks Like

Five stages, in plain language:

  1. Initial conversation. You apply via our Contact Us page or by phone. We have a thirty-minute call. Both sides assess fit. No commitment on either side.
  2. Dealer agreement. If both sides see the fit, we draft a dealer agreement under Manitoba commercial law that defines scope, territory understanding (non-exclusive by default), and the product lines you will carry.
  3. Training. Cantherm walks your team through the Arcotherm product line, technical specifications, and the bespoke-manufacturing cycle. Initial training is included.
  4. Inventory commitment. You order an initial inventory aligned with your market. Manufacturing lead times are honoured — six-plus months for bespoke Biemmedue builds; shorter ranges for in-stock items.
  5. Ongoing relationship. Quarterly check-ins, regular product updates, joint-pursuit opportunities on large accounts, mutual referral on customers each side cannot serve directly.

The relationship is non-exclusive on both sides. Cantherm reserves the right to serve other dealers in the same region or vertical. Dealers reserve the right to carry complementary product lines that do not conflict with Arcotherm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the dealer relationship exclusive in my territory?

No. Dealer relationships are non-exclusive on both sides by default. We may discuss territory-specific arrangements during the dealer agreement stage if circumstances warrant.

What is the minimum inventory commitment?

It varies by region and the dealer’s customer base. Initial inventory is sized to your market and your customer demand pattern, not a fixed number across all dealers. We work this out together during the dealer agreement stage.

Do you provide marketing support?

We provide product documentation, technical specifications, spec sheets, and access to the Arcotherm catalogue. Co-branded marketing collateral is available for established dealers. We are not a marketing agency — your customer-facing voice is yours; we support the technical depth behind it.

What is the difference between a Cantherm dealer and a rental partner?

Rental partners operate fleets of rental equipment and route customers to nearest available units. Dealers carry inventory and sell equipment to end-user customers. Some companies operate both models. We discuss which fits your business during the initial conversation.

How does the six-plus-month Biemmedue lead time affect dealer planning?

It is the rhythm dealers learn first. We coach new dealers through the procurement cycle — you place orders six-plus months ahead, we coordinate the ocean-container shipping cycle, and your customers receive heaters engineered for their specific operational requirements rather than configured down from generic SKUs. The bespoke cycle is part of the value proposition, not an obstacle to work around.

What if my company does not match one of the listed archetypes?

Tell us anyway. The list is a starting point, not a wall. Many of Cantherm’s best relationships started with a company that saw the fit before we did.

A Final Word

We are selective on purpose. The dealers we work with shape Cantherm’s reputation as much as Cantherm shapes theirs. If you have read this far, you are likely the right kind of company to start a conversation.
